Dear Meadow Lake Owners:

Season’s greetings from beautiful northwest Montana. It is my pleasure to write to you as winter comes calling. We’ve had a great year, and we are looking forward to 2024.

Our biggest news of 2023 is the implementation of the completed document refresh project that has taken place over the last several years. Owners passed all amendments, and MLDC has been busy adjusting policies and implementing new programs. Highlights include:

  • Association-level accounting that will a) simplify the function, b) create parity in the distribution of delinquency expenses, and c) pool reserves
  • Establishment of a deedback program designed to create flexibility for owners looking to change or end their ownership

This year has also been full of exciting changes at the resort itself.

  • Last winter, we reintroduced the skating rink at Hucklebear Park
  • Community members and owners are enjoying the new pickleball courts
  • We’ve added a few programs, including kayak rolling classes and trips to the farmers’ market
  • We are enjoying another great season of cross-country and skate skiing on the golf course
  • Keep an eye out for stick and puck hockey nights, and a pickleball tournament in the spring
  • Expiring rotation schedules have been updated for the coming decades. Be sure to check the website to see your detailed schedule.

The bar and grille had an excellent year, and we are happy to formally announce the return of Executive Chef Russell Svoboda, who previously held the position from 2017 to 2021. Please reach out if you’d like to host an event or family gathering. Special menus are available, and we’d love to see your family’s memories created on the patio at Meadow Lake.

Meadow Lake’s rental program set a record this year for total income. These rental dollars provide revenue that decrease delinquencies and help keep owner maintenance fees low. If you’d like to discuss the benefits of the rental revenue your timeshare can bring, please call us to review your options.

Glacier National Park continued to be the largest single attraction for our summer visitors. The peak season has never been longer or more robust at the resort than it was in 2023. Our occupancy climbed above 85% in May, and it did not drop below that level until mid-October. That strong demand is creating the future of Meadow Lake Resort.

Renovations and updates continued in 2023. A few highlights include:

  • Exterior siding work at the Recreation Center was completed in May
  • Ice skating rink’s inauguration in January
  • Resort Center landscaping and parking lot maintenance
  • Spyglass Association landscaping
  • Building Two received a new roof in November

We are planning a series of projects for 2024:

  • Andrew’s Association will see updated interior furniture and seating
  • Spyglass Association updates will include deck seating and interior furniture
  • Glacier Village Association updates will include soft seating and dining room updates
  • All associations will have landscaping materials refreshed across the property
  • Rocky Bar O will have major deck and dock renovations completed in the spring

Whitefish Mountain Resort will be open for downhill skiing from December 7 to April 7. Shuttle service and a ski lodge facility at Whitefish are provided for owners and resort guests. Lift tickets can be purchased at the Meadow Lake front desk.

And finally, as an owner at a Vacatia resort, you will receive 20% off rentals at all other Vacatia-managed properties, including resorts in locations such as Breckenridge, Scottsdale, New Orleans, Florida’s Gulf Coast, Virginia Beach, and central Tennessee. And with OwnerPLUS, you have the option of exchanging for a weeklong stay or a split week in those same locations, or you can even visit Meadow Lake at a different time of year. Better still, an OwnerPLUS exchange costs a fraction of the price that the major exchange companies charge. For more information, call 888-522-4943.

We hope to see you soon. Come visit as often as you can.

Best Regards,

Will Steck | General Manager | Meadow Lake Resort
